Stand By Me Film Review
For this essay, I was tasked to watch a film and analyze the interpersonal communication exhibited between the characters. The film I chose to analyze was the 1986 film Stand by Me, directed by Rob Reiner. In my analysis, I applied several key concepts from our lessons as I broke down the interpersonal communication between the characters Chris and Gordie. Specifically, I discussed the characteristics of a high disclosure friendship, conflict styles, the stages of relational development, as well as the ways in which communication meets the identity needs of individuals.
Short Narrative Script
The Other World: When his fiancé, the mother of his unborn child, is chosen to ascend to the other world, Elijah desperately searches for a way to join her, until he discovers a horrific truth.
This was the very first narrative script I had ever written. I completed it for a scriptwriting course I took at Southern.
